Drawing System Creation
Describing a system of image generation
This project was carried out during my studies at University of the Arts London when studying for my BA User Experience degree. It was a project that I particularly enjoyed and was very pleased with the outcomes. Please free to download the files found on the left and try my system out for yourself.
The brief
The aim of this project was to create a set of rules that described a process of image generation that could be run by an individual and return consistent aesthetically pleasing outcomes.
Creating the Base File
Where the magic happens
An initial base file was created in Photoshop using a grid to guide the implementor when creating a composition. A white canvas can feel daunting so this helped remove some of that initial anxiety.
Creating Grid Systems
Generating outcomes
Four grid systems were created that the output of the base file is brought into to produce visual outcomes. This allowed me to hide all the complex functionality and surprise the users when viewing their final outcomes.
Creation of Colour Palettes
Ensuring quality
To ensure that all outcomes were of the highest quality I provided three different colour palettes that had been put through quality control testing by a variety of different users.
The Rules
How it works!
To ensure consistency and outcome satisfaction I created a set of rules to guide the image generation process. These rules were intended to make the process fun and playful.
