Hi, I’m James
A user experience designer based in London.
I’m a multidisciplinary designer with 8+ years of experience working for both agencies and on a freelance basis. I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside clients and collaborators worldwide, creating compelling and exciting brands, products and experiences.
As a freelance designer, I have been exposed to hundreds of projects acting as a lead designer, project manager, and advisor allowing me to optimise the quality and speed of my work. I always work with a clear timeframe towards specific deliverables and outcomes. Ensuring all work stays aligned with business objectives.
I have a strong interest in sustainability, technology, behavioural economics, motion, and music. Oh and i’m a massive foodie! I strive to make a positive impact on the planet and society through the work I carry out and have worked with many companies that share this mission. We only have one planet lets take care of it!
User Experience
Who’s interested?
Understanding how and why people behave in the way that they do is something that has always interested me, especially as people tend not to always act rationally. Which I guess is partly the reason why I became a user experience designer. After all, how can I create a user experience if I don’t know why a person acts the way they do?
I approach all my projects in the same way, no matter size or scope, with an initial discovery session to understand the client’s vision, the business objectives and current data. From this I can help companies to build and launch their products, improve their user experience and product performance or completely re-brand their identity.
User experience and product design are ever-changing, as with every industry, so I never stop learning and honing my skills. I have a massive soft spot for motion design, you will notice subtle animations throughout a lot of my work. Here’s a cool animation I recently worked on.

My Values
What I live by!
These values guide everything I do. They are intentionally aspirational and aspirationally intentional.
Collaboration is key
You know things, I know things. Together we know a lot of things. So I believe the best work happens when we think of ourselves as one team.
Positive Impact
I believe all work should benefit both the environment and society. I believe through my work I can make a positive impact.
Don’t fear the unknown
Figuring out the unknown is what sparks the best work. I know it can be done, even if I’m not exactly sure how.
Over-deliver
My standards are very high, designers tend to be perfectionists! I like to give people more than they knew they wanted.
Enjoy it
Enjoy the process. I love my work and hope you enjoy the process as much as me.
